In such conditions anonymous proxy servers come in handy.
Whenever you surf the web a direct connection between your computer and the website server is created,which can be easily traced using Spywares or some monitoring softwares. This is how your collage people restrict you from going to some sites.
Proxy works as a wall in between. First the webpage is downloaded at the proxy server and then that in turn is relayed to you .Thus avoids direct connection between server and your system.
Now that we know what a proxy is , lets get down how to use it.We'll talk about 3 basic ways that you can use proxy.
SOFTWARES:
In the market there are some really good working proxy softwares available.
You get to install them.
Amongst the popular ones is Anonymizer. You can download the trial version from here
Doing a google will get you a long list of these softwares.
WEB PROXIES:
In this case you go to the site of proxy server, Enter the address of the site which you want to surf and the proxy site will open it for you. There are some pretty fast free proxy sites like

BROWSER BASED PROXY SETTINGS:
In this way you configure your browser to use the IP address and port no of the proxy server. and the browser will automatically redirect all your traffic through that proxy.

QUICK GUIDE FOR SETTING UP BROWSER TO USE PROXY:
1.Open Internet Explorer,
2. Go to Internet Options In Tools
3. Under Connections Tab Click Settings (for setting up proxy)
4. Click on the box of "Use a proxy server for this connection"
5. Now, in the address field put the Ip of the server you want to use, and in the Port field the port no of the server.
(Ex.- Address-195.175.37.6 Port-8080)
6. Click Ok and again Ok.
7. Finished
To Check If You've done it properly, open the website www.google.com
see which edition it is in.
If you done the proxy settings well, the google page should now be in the edition of the country where that proxy server is situated
If you have Problem with the PROXY(searching for this word might have been banned) , you can use TUNNEL, they works all the same.
